This is my lude, called Katt. She is a Jap import lightweight 4th gen with VTEC and limited slip diff :D Front bumper and side skirts will be coming off at some point, and will turbo it a bit further down the line too. She has also been dyno'd at 187.7bhp (and that's with a crap ebay chip with useless mapping)

Like it, omg though the horns :salute: my daughter will love those.

I like the side skirts and rear spats. Could be the angle of the photo but would think a smaller front bumper more in keeping with it. What you planning to do with the front end?

The jap imports are supposed to be 197 bhp standard, though with age some of it would be lost.

Turbo vtec doesn't look too bad though some debate about if you would get more out of a non vtec engine with turbo? Me I am sticking with what I have ie vtec. Though manta has to come first at the mo.

Those wheels look like Tantrums? Always like the look of those wheels on Jap car's like the Prelude.

What you going to fit in place of the current front bumper you are planning on removing etc??

187 bhp sounds good what do they produce standard ? :)

Crazy_C
03-13-2009, 03:15 AM
Hey Andy, they produce 197bhp as standard (Jap import) so after 14 years, losing 9 bhp certainly isn't bad seeing as that was on 95ron fuel (should really be run on 97ron), old knackered plugs and old plug leads and a dirty air filter.

I am going to get the oil changed, replace the plugs and leads and clean the air filter and then see what she's producing then, running her on 97ron fuel.

The wheels are Wolfrace wheels, and they look quie nice, yeah. Would prefer some deep dish rims, but these are round enough to do me for now at least!!

If I do remover the front bumper, I'd replace it with an OEM one with a WWRS front lip, though due to lack of funds right now, I will most probably just invest in fixing and repairing the damage on my existing front bumper and get something to hold it on properly other than cable ties!!

Oh, and here's an update on her:

Got the new licence plates on (read LUDE U by the way) and I managed to custom mount a JDM/USDM front plate holder onto the bumper too. I have installed an aerial on demand switch and a new aerial so it doesn't have that radio mast anymore!! Got new smoked lexus lights on the rear too to add to the blacked out look. But please, do forgive the dirt! :p

Also, I have removed the rear seats and will be replacing the front seats with Cobra Monaco S bucket seats and 4 point harnesses which the lovely Mr Lambo is making seat mount rail thingys for (cos he ROCKS!! :D )

Wires have now been all tidied up, seat belts removed and new 4 point harnesses are partially installed, ready and waiting for the seats :D

Did you do the dyno run on premium unleaded? Curious. Mine is absolutely running like a rocket at the mo. I have no idea what James has done to her but she is so responsive. There is a massive difference with premium unleaded, on the odd occassion in the past I've had to put a little standard in as they frequently run out at the BP garage. Much to my joy she loves the tesco premium and its always in. :D

Crazy_C
03-13-2009, 11:49 AM
Nah, the dyno run that produces 188bhp was on regular 95ron unleaded. Next one will be with premium in the tank, new plugs and new leads and an oil change done too, and see what that does then :)

Mine is incredibly responsive too, though I do have a habit of fiddling with the throttle response on cars :D LoL

Well I have a new rear lip from Marc (Grafter on LudeBehaviour) and will be getting a pair of bumpers from Rob (Greasemonkey on Midlands Honda) tomorrow and a second front bumper from Mills (on Midlands Honda) as well at some point (yes, I'm greedy :D but I have some plans  )

And my lovely bucket seats going in on Thursday with the help of the man, the legend himself...........some say he only comes out at night as he uses sonar instead of his eyes, and some say that if you through a paper aeroplane at him, he will eat it...........all we know is, he is called Lambo Mark!!!!

This is what I've managed so far today:

Bit of filler spray (the horrible yellow stuff) to fill in the pitting:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230042.jpg

Has a slight crack on the corner, but a bit of filler will cover this up nicely
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230043.jpg

Not very easy trying to work on things though when you have a roadkill skunk stuck on it
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230044.jpg

I have also put this beam across my arm rest, holding my iPod in place :)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230045.jpg

So I can watch music videos on my new head unit :D Yes, that is me there behind the girl with yellow hair, and this was a major music video, played on Kerrang quite a bit back when it was released :D Shockingly, the song is called "Girl With Yellow Hair" by Betty Curse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruM4ZcJi12U I am the one with the pony tail when shown from behind. I miss my long hair :(
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230046.jpg

My interior as it is now
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230051.jpg

And my lovely switch that changes the dials from mph to km/h :D
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P3230050.jpg

And that's about it for now. When I get the rear bumper, I'll get that sanded down, bolt the lip onto it and start moulding it all in together, and things should start looking pretty damn awesome :) Complete body change for Katt is in the lines :)

Cheers though :) Working on the rear bumper at the moment, filling and sanding down all the imperfections and then going to mould the lip to the bumper :)

Looking good, make sure you really key it to make sure the paint sticks. We use the rubbing down cloths, they are brilliant.

Crazy_C
03-26-2009, 02:03 AM
Cheers for the advice Ang. I just use lots of wet n dry P120 and just rub it down with an old T-shirt to get all the dust off, or attack it with a compressed air duster :)

Will be great, and totally can't wait to start working on the front lip :D Total one off custom gonna be made :) wooo!!!

Looks nice mate, but you need to sort out those harnesses, they're lethal!

Harness should never gone down at such an angle behind the seat, in the event of an accident they could literally kill you.

Crazy_C
03-29-2009, 01:21 AM
How would they kill??? I thought that sort of angle was about right? I was told an angle of 45 - 90 degrees, or is that the other way???

Where would you mount the rear points to then? The rear seatbelt mounts are the only mounts I have. I can move one to the upper mount on each side but that's about it.

Ang
03-29-2009, 09:03 PM
Don't you think the laws should change on these harnesses, great for off road and on the track but checking your blind spot and reversing the car must be a nightmare?

Crazy_C
03-29-2009, 09:11 PM
Actually they're not that bad Ang. Reversing I mainly only use door mirrors anyway though, and when I've done my rear window, will only use the door mirrors :p lol

And yeah, I just sent them a message and they're gonna do the same as me, and theirs is used on track too!!

Ang
03-29-2009, 09:15 PM
Looks like a nightmare to get harness bars for honda preludes of 4th generation (5th generation not too bad). Here's me hoping that you do check your blind spot when reversing as well, all those little kids running about :p

Crazy_C
03-29-2009, 09:25 PM
Kids? What are *bump* kids? :p :p

I am still thinking that I shall just get a big metal bar welded across, be a lot easier than trying to find something that will bolt in, though that would be my preferred option, but ah well, at times we have to compromise eh? I will probably just make something to go in the back :)

Crazy_C
04-06-2009, 01:36 AM
The new rear bumper is finished and on now, but not without it's fair share of typical problems. Mainly being that the drivers side of the back was (and still is for all intensive purposes) bent as fook!!
I mean the impact it had on the rear end at some point was enough to STRAIGHTEN the rear bumper support!!!
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P4050122.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P4050123.jpg
And this is the state of the bare metal back end:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P4050121.jpg

But the main bit - the new bumper all on there :D

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/P4050127.jpg

Katt also now has no rear wiper any more either, a nice little touch that I quite like, and stops me accidentally turning it on and ripping up the stickers (more to go on!!!!!!)

Ang
04-06-2009, 09:50 AM
Definitly been busy, I would put some rust treatment if you haven't already on the surface rust or rub it back, prime and paint it. It's almost as dirty as mine ;)

Crazy_C
04-06-2009, 10:44 AM
Hahaaa, didn't really think there was any point though to be honest as I have to have her completely de-rusted anyways for when I export her to Canada *sighs* that'll be fun!!!

Hopefully looking to get out there next year, around August time, but may wait a little longer, depends how much I spend on Katt between now and then and also on how much I want to take across with me.

Original plan was take about £3k with me, but might save up to try and get about £6-7k just to help a bit more.

Well the side skirts have come off on Katt. Not intended - they started splitting along the seam in the door well so I ripped them off and guess what.................There's like jack all rust under there :D Once again, Katt comes through!!!

OMG  Looks like you caught that in the nick of time. What do you intend doing sorting out the bodywork, fixing the kit and putting it back on? Just looking at what went on with the fitting of the kit, can't work out why it looks so bent, is that an optical illusion or is that bodywork really bent out of shape?

Crazy_C
04-09-2009, 04:53 PM
Heh, yeah, they're nice n solid though :) And nooo, not an illusion :( there is about 10mm of filler on the rear arches from moulding to the side skirt and the doors I think have been bent to match  Well, you'll see it on Monday and you can see, cos I've had the side skirts for so long I've almost forgotten how a stock one should look :p

Crazy_C
04-14-2009, 05:25 PM
Well here's the result of todays bit of work. Didn't manage to get as much done as I'd hoped, but things are still pretty bad on me body wise so it's not just the car! LOL

Took the wire brush attachment on the angle grinder to town and although a lot of it is surface rust, some does go a little deeper (will get some rust treatment for those bits) there is also a rust hole there too at the bottom, which I will cut out and get a plate welded in there.

I haven't started on the passenger side yet (do that tomorrow) but hopefully its in better condition.

Yeah, gotta get to work on the other side which I'll do today provided the weather is good enough and see what I'm working with there, and then take it down to the boys at the garage and see what they can do for me there.

All I'll need is some metal cut and welded in and then I can sit down on the kerb again like I did today and grind the welds down and then start on painting. For the paint work, I have a few ideas in mind, so watch this space :)

Crazy_C
04-19-2009, 07:08 PM
Well it's about time for another update I think!!

So I've got the new front bumper on there and 2 of the 4 corner lights in (yes, 4 corner lights, not 2 lights and 2 reflectors like normal!!!) and I have the facelift nostrils on it too :D Yay!!

When I was dummy fitting the bumper, the old bumper supports were poking out, so I just had to take a photo. This is NOT a lude to mess with :p

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/DSC_0384.jpg

But here are the other pictures of the front end done :)

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/DSC_0387.jpg

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/bkcr1/DSC_0388.jpg

So all that is left now:
- Put a stock hood on
- Put stock side skirts on
- Sort out the sides
- Decat
- Build new sub box

Crazy_C
04-24-2009, 03:40 AM
Well I have the new USDM DRLs in (lights inside of the reflectors in the front bumper) and got them wired up to the sidelights so woo! :D

And I also have removed out the trunk floor I had before, and turned the subwoofer around, installed a custom modified rear strut bar which actually holds the subs in place, and of course, keeping my mascot, purple stoned space monkey

I'm going to just panel out the rest of the trunk, nothing too fancy, just nice n simple.

Yea, they're pretty secure, the MDF base can't twist as there's no room for it to twist, and the sub can't move forwards as that block on the back is held in with 3" screws :D

But today, I have been playing around and I've changed all the green on my dials to blue so it matches in with the seats and it looks sooo much better :)

Nothing major on her this time, but this is something I've been working on for a little while now with someone in America and it's finally done!! :D Sorry to say this, but just so that it doesn't end up being something seen on every Prelude (like Mugen replica skirts on 5th gens!!) the design is copyrighted.

I've put them on the spoiler so they work really well when the trunk lid is opened up, but if you turn the image upside down when looking at it, you'll see the sticker is the same on each side, just one is the other way round :D 8)
