Maybe we could have a word with the Hastings Bonfire Boys and get this years effigee to be a Peugeot 207 :D
Crazy, if you look at the tops of the cam lobes you will see that they have worn down to nothing where they should be cam shaped.

LOL, I thought that's what it was but wasn't sure if it was the design of the French cars (know what the French are like!! ) I've only known cams to wear down after about 300'000 miles!! How many miles had that motor done?
Do they make cams out of hardened butter or something then?? :p LOL

Not that many I wouldn't think, I can't remember how I found it but I seem to remember it's a 1.8ish Renault engine.
Awful though, and apparently it still ran albeit a bit lumpy!

Hahaa, least it ran though LOL
Remember when a mate of mine dropped his 3/8" socket bit in the block of his Goodwrench V8!! He was wondering why it was rattling, but thought he'd run it for a few days to see if it would ease up, it didn't, took it apart and there was a very squished socket bit and a very red faced fool! Did no damage to the engine whatsoever. Wouldn't trust that in any European or Asian engine!!
Edited Bloodhound Gang lyrics:
Renault, renault, renault is on fire. We don't need no water let the mother f**ker burn, burn mother f**cker, buuurrrrnnnn!!!! ;) :p
