Not having a very good day today..
Had a job this afternoon at an office on Hastings seafront, car park behind it was jammed (and the spaces are too tight with the Supra, you park and then can't open the door enough to get out) so I tried the car park on the seafront opposite.
Drove through the car park, no spaces in there so carefully drove over the nasty bastard sleeping policeman on the exit lane. It's one of those with big springy metal spikes that fold down as you drive over them and then spring back up whacking the bottom of your car. I've never taken the Supra in there before for fear of scraping my exhaust or car floor, as they're very big and hit most cars.
Of course, not only did they hit the bottom of the car, one managed to slash a 3" gash in the inner sidewall of my nearside rear tyre! Just sat there listening to the sudden wooshing sound as I went over it feeling a little deflated (pardon the pun).
So Supra on a spacesaver at the rear = fecking dangerous :(
Luckily though, the office I was going in to happened to be the Hastings Council/ESCC traffic and parking enforcement office. So whilst in there, I had a word with a couple of people who went and took photos of the tyre while I was there.
I just have to write an official letter to them now, stating what happened and when and go through their insurance company to try and claim. You can guess what fun that will be can't you..
Problem is that'll take ages, so I'll have to stump up the £155 for a tyre, plus fitting. Pretty sure it's graized the rim on the outside too, but need to go and measure it down there to see if that's even possible, might just have hit something in the road whilst driving today. Looked like fresh shiny metal underneath though so hadn't happened long ago.
Balls :(
