After a lot of fiddling to do the headlights and brake lights on the gto :sign_drama: the gto just needed one tyre for the mot and is back on the road :d

Never had so much fun (sarcasm here) sorting out bulbs! Those pop up lights and very little room..............

I always dreaded doing the lights on the GT4's, MR2's and old Supra's, they're a pain in the butt.. Worst part was getting the sodding lids straight again afterwards, lots of fiddling and adjusting, up and down to get them to lie flat!! Grrr..! lol..

Glad it's sorted though, well done!

Definitly something else as Steve saw! Oh and loved the condition of that nova steve, nice to see it for real.

The lights went down well but what a pain in the arse to change a bulb, it's easier to unscrew the lights themeselves and do it that way.

Zoe is a star (my 9 year old daughter) she was the first person to point out that the lack of starting was the flat battery, didn't sound right at all but she still knew! Got the jump leads and jumped straight on! Good girl that she is.
Oh must point out that this James was not here at that point.

I would recommend a gto anyday, beautiful, choice of drives now are the prelude, gto and v8 manta :eyes::drool: Come on for the price we paid that car has been a star!

Ok, don't laugh, my wife used to have a Ford Probe (at least it was the 24V version, and is a Mazda underneath) in purple......awaits the dodgy comments.

That had pop-up lights too, when a bulb went thought it was going to be a royal PITA, but no, it was quicker to change than the headlight bulb on some regular lights. Had a big dial on the back that you could access from the engine bay which you just turned to raise the light manually.

Yes the gto has that as well, you can set the lights to stay up from a button inside or manual screw (sounds dodgy!) by the headlight.

Steve saw how fiddley it is to get the bulbs out, in fact the only way to get the bulb out was to unscrew the plastic surrounds, 4 screws around the lightbulb and the little rubber cover! The backlights had to be unbolted from inside (3 bolts), good that the plastic covers were off.

Females are allowed to have purple probes ;)

Same as all the Toyota's with popups, thats the manual light lift in case the motor fails and it's dark.

Same as the GTO, the Toyota's are still a PITA to change.

Glad you sorted it, but it didnt look like the car was designed to be taken apart very easily! lol. I was quite scared by all the sensors, plugs and other stuff in the engine bay which I would never understand!

I think that's why retro cars are sooo cool  loads of room inside the engine bay and to sit in often enough. Its getting more difficult squeezing Zoe and her friends in the back of the car now in the lude.

When things go wrong you have to have a good knowledge of the car and be able to work things through. I obviously don't normally touch it but stupidly offered to check it for the mot  just to get her back on the road.
