View Full Version : Another newbie!
Hello all, Directed her by a post by Steve on another forum :)
Im from essex, so sorta southish depending what map you look at lol
I too own a nova, and as of a couple of weeks ago and tigra (Hairdresser/woman jokes this way please lol)
Nova is coming to the end of its first year on the road, of which will be ended next month by taking it off the road (Again!) and having a rebuild.

And the tigra will be replacing the nova as my daily car, atm its totaly standard 1.6 16v, bought it with a snapped cambelt (6 bent valves) and have just finished rebuilding it and doing some other minor jobs it needed doing, Mot is booked for tuesday and i damm hope it passes!

Now im off to have a better look round this forum.
:)
Have to say a rather tidy little nova there, got soft spot for them. My other half really finds them fun to drive...despite the fact that he has far faster cars he's always found them a good little toy. Lots you can do to those as well.........:eyes:
We've had a few hairdresser jokes about a couple of cars on here but that tigra looks pretty good. Be careful with that engine after the bent valves...........been there in the past with a few cars and sometimes other problems seem to come along after. Keep a close ear out engine wise. :)
If you fancy meeting up with us then have a look at lydden hill for the bank hol weekend.
Welcome to the forum:):D:)

Welcome to the forum, nice tidy nova there! :)
Good luck for the MOT too.
Cheers people.
Ive got a soft spot for novas, always have since i had my SR at 17 (Im now 21) lol
And yer i will be keeping a close eye/ear on the tigras engine, Dont fancy stripping the thing down again!
I should of added the nova does have a fair bit of modding, its got a corsa sport 1.4 16v engine (For cheapness lol), its a truly mint shell (Complete standard car cost me £120 with a 1.2), its been turned into a GSI replica, which inc's a full interior plus loads of other stuff lol
Its not a perfect car, its got a few engine problems and the bodywork is preety poor, the car is rust free but has loads of dents, ive got most of the panels to replace but havnt been too botherd with looks of the car, speed and handleing is top of my list (Well behind keeping the costs low lol)
Il have to get some up to date pics of both cars, the tigra has now been cleaned to hell and the nova hasnt changed much but hey-ho lol.
And the tigra now has some new items after going on a ebay buying frenzy lol
Speed and handling, our priority also, bodywork comes later for us, usually time is a limiting factor too!

The Nova does look extremely clean, very very nice!! :)

Like those MR2s, camry v6 is a nice conversion but can be difficult to get hold of the parts. Seen a few people have put in the 3sgte engine into them, they go like stink!

Mk1 MR2's fecking rock, I've had two and would have another if I could afford to. They're such great cars to drive.
Check out the twobrutal forum for conversions to turbo and V6, lots of info there.
