Hey all,
Im Nick, aka Stavros; Im 21 (nearly) and a site manager for a construction company in sussex.
I currently own a peugeot 207 (booo) which is the car I drive daily, but i do also own a 1970 VW beetle which is currently sitting in my garage screaming to become a project :D. However this is on hold until the whole credit crunch starts to settle a bit.
Look forward to chatting to you guys on here and seeing you all at future meets. :D

Hi, good to see a good range of cars coming up on here and lots and lots of projects, the way forward for most of us. :salute:

That sounds great and very much like us, not sure what we'll be in, something probably half finished :D
If there is anything anyone can do to help do ask, sure people can help. Must post up some things we have access to.

Going to give it a service in the next few weeks; it keeps stalling when ticking over, think i just need to clean it through and put a new fuel filter on there. Welcome to come round when i getting her running right :D

If after the cleaner its still doing this you could check to see if the float is sticking?

Snap! I have messed about with bike carbs and taken those apart but that's as far as I go, my other half suggested the float sticking, partcularly if the car has been sitting a lot. Could be a multitude of problems and its a question of ruling them out one by one. Carb cleaner is a great starting point.
Well I am glad someone else is a beginner on here, I have some understanding but it is basic. I may buy and sell the cars and occassionally get let loose on one of the cars for a bit, order parts etc but definitly not a mechanic (unlike my partner).
With weather like today you'll be out there a lot more getting it done. :D

Yea the car has been sitting for 3 years with the occasional turn over and then turning her off as soon as she was warm, but the stalling happens just after the engine note changes. Im going to clean her through and start from there me thinks. I'll going to post some pics of her in the project section as soon as i can :)
