Well I am looking into selling my Prelude as to be honest, I made a massive compromise when I bought her in that I wanted rear wheel drive, but I let the looks (and the ears) seduce me and I'm beginning to think that no matter how much work I do, that will always be annoying me, that one little flaw.
Overall, I am looking for £2000 (without the private plate) or £2500 (with the private plate) but open to offers.
Yes, a bit, I know, but make me an offer and who knows!!
She is a 1995 (facelift) Honda Prelude SI-VTEC with the Limited Slip Differential on her (that grips like HELL!!!!) and she has a fairly stock but healthy engine. She's the lightweight edition so has no 4ws, no airbags, no ABS (though has only ever locked up twice and that is when I made the wheels lock up on gravel!!), no air con (has automatic climate control instead), no cruise control and no sun roof.
ENGINE:
She was dyno'd as I bought her at 188.7bhp and 165ft-lbs torque but since then she has had an oil change, new plugs, OBX performance leads, new 510A battery and a decat. I've checked with my MOT station and according to some VOSA information I was given before, a decat is actually legal for this car as it's a Jap Import (was registered on M-reg) and there isn't a UK equivilent to do a cat test on, so she is tested according to the decat emissions standards. No error codes read, nor have they ever read. She also has a large bore back box (don't know the make) and it gives a really great burble whilst driving that isn't annoying at all like some are. All helps with the breathing. She doesn't have stainless steel headers because I've been informed that stainless steel ones actually cause power losses on the JDM engine.
CHASSIS:
I've had full Tein coilovers installed all round as well as having most of the geometry (steering and suspension) checked and replaced if necessary. The suspension cost £750 and was professionally installed and aligned, and the other bits cost a further £835 (have receipts) and when driving round corners she will hit the apex of the corner every time and sticks to the corners like glue!! She has been lowered, but the amount can be set to what you want within reason as she sits on adjustable coilovers all round.
LIGHTING:
She has custom made crystal clear JDM style headlamps (£150) that take the 9005 and 9006 bulbs from the US style lights (can get them at Halfords though anyways), custom smoked tail lights (£100) but one has been scratched by vandals but should polish out with some very fine glass polishing abrasive (will try), and USDM style front bumper lights with crystal clear indicators and crystal clear sidelights were the reflectors are usually located (£40)
INTERIOR:
The interior trim has been custom painted in BMW Metallic Arctic Silver and really lightens up the interior. The rear has been totally stripped out. I will include ALL the original trim and parts that I removed along with various spares I have too. The main thing is that she has the full Electro Luminesent (glowing) dials that I have tinted blue (a lot of work went into this) and it's very unusual.
She will be sold with the STOCK front seats in place and the standard seatbelts connected up, STOCK steering wheel, STOCK gear knob, STOCK gas pedal and I shall be keeping the subwoofer and stereo. I will also be keeping the melody air horn but leaving the normal twin trumpet air horn on there (MASSIVE improvement over stock horn, and can actually be heard!!)
BODY:
As you all can see, she has had a fairly extensive rework on the body from when I bought her. The front and rear bumpers have been returned to stock, with a Value Sports rear lip custom moulded smoothly into the rear bumper (seamless and looks like it's just one complete bumper). The fibreglass Vader side skirts have been removed too so I could see what lurked beneath and she isn't that bad really (plenty of pics if you click link in my sig) with only really one main section of rust that I found on the drivers side by the rear wheel arch. The side skirt bits are in good condition, didn't find any rust, just copius amounts of crap on them!!! Stock side skirts are now on her too. She also has 17" Wolfrace wheels too with new front tyres and the rear tyres were replaced end of last year and still have good tread on them.
The door handles and trunk lid are keyless and the remote fob for the alarm is also the key for getting in and out. There is also a hidden starter button and the key ignition has been disconnected (I can reverse this)
Also, of course, she has an EVO moulding on the hood which isn't in great condition to be honest, but I am in the process of trying to sort out a stock hood, and most importantly, she has her trademark "ears", the roof scoops which aren't functional, but sure look good in my opinion. And also has a one off vented driver's side wing. Previous owner told me it was for the air intake (which is wrong, but it still looks good!!)
Unfortunately, she has been vandalized recently and has been keyed repeatedly down the passenger side and this is shown in the price The sides will also need a bit of work and tidying up after removing the side skirts, but there isn't massive amounts of work to do, probably a couple of days work at a body shop (cut out the old corners of rear arches and replace with new panels (good to do both sides to prevent future rusting) and then a bit of filler and shaping. Reason I haven't done this is that the keyings have made me feel like not bothering to be honest. Hate what some assholes can do eh??
I will be selling the private plate separately (have had offers of £800) but I will sell the plate on the car for an extra £500. It is in full legal format as it is, and reads "LUDE U". Just one bolt at the bottom between the 1's will make it read that exactly.
I will be very sad to see her go, but I have to follow my heart and my heart is wanting a rear wheel drive car. I will be up for swapping for a clean Nissan S14 turbo manual with service history from the last 3+ years with proof of oil changes every 3-6k miles.
She has MOT till end of July (will re MOT her if I still have her by then, but any work required will be reflected in price, but only thing I can think of is the lack of rear fog lamp, but this is a simple installation, but I want to do a trick fancy install but a £10 kit from eBay will do for MOT, or just changing the drivers side reverse bulb to a fog bulb and change the wiring.
Overall, I am looking for £2000 (without the private plate) or £2500 (with the private plate) but open to offers.
