View Full Version : Project Spitfire MK3
This car was dragged out of a garage, buried under rubbish and not seen the light of day for years, it is a rare model and needs to be re- registered.
It now runs and drives and has the other body parts, must dig out the photos of it before as the transformation is major. It has been good fun sourcing parts for it and can't wait for the day to be able to see it on the road.
Major welding has been done and lots of work carried out to make up new wings and sort out the rear quarters.

Now for those that may think that little has been done, this is how we got it.:respekt: to James for doing the rear quarters, we do also have the doors, front wings and bonnet sorted. The windscreen frame was impossible to find damaged so he removed the rust and had some delicate welding to do.

Blimey, doing well then!
Most people would have taken one look at that and crushed it, respect for even attempting to save it!
These can fetch serious money but I think it will always stay with us. Must get a photo of the rear end properly as to fabricate what he has is amazing.
Car is in the spray booth and being road ready for an mot and then sympathetic reg plate very shortly. :D:D:D The first time on the road in many many years with luck!

Ooh good news!!
Bodywork on, really quick respray and needing lots more doing to it as little time for prep. It did have a drive for the first time in????? years. We've had it about 7 years and I know its not been on the road for many years before that.
Time to come home to stay. :)

This is the Google maps location of it (look on the satelite view, look around the area, and then be jealous of how many cars I have near me! hahahaaa It's my playground!!)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=scrap+yard,&sll=51.479031,0.213257&sspn=0.0029,0.009645&ie=UTF8&radius=0.21&rq=1&ev=p&ll=51.480909,0.213922&spn=0.003067,0.009645&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A
I'll go down there tomorrow and I'll send you a pic message to your mobile of what they have there. It has GORGEOUS wheels on there!! It's a Triumph, I know that much, but not seen one like it but I think it's a Mk3 Spitfire.
I can ask for a price if you want too
Thanks for looking CrazyC, shame it wasn't in the end but they do all look rather similar, still I am sure something will come up eventually.
