Heh, yeah, that's a serious quote for when I renew, so I'd be 22 then with 2 years no claims, licence since Feb '05, 3 points for speeding, 10k miles a year, fully comp insurance with cover abroad, driving a Jap import SI-VTEC with the following modifications:
- Rear seats removed
- Bucket seats in front
- 4 point harnesses
- Sports steering wheel
- Alloy wheels
- Performance suspension
- Big bore exhaust
- Induction kit
What year is your lude? You could try classic car insurance, go third party fire and theft (or is that quote that?).
Privilege and direct line are great for prices as well.
Limit your mileage even more. You could try an advanced driving lessons or tests and that would bring it down.

That's nuts prices for insurance. You tried Adrian Flux, Sky, HIC, A-Plan? They all cater for performance cars, young drivers, imports etc.
Also be careful on how you describe your job. Believe me before trade policies James had to be put down as a mechanical fitter rather than mechanic. Insurance goes up for mechanics as they are prone to stopping to help people and can have their cars hit, seriously we were told this by a number of companies.
Hate to say this but :innocent: removing the mods and going standard will reduce the costs.

If you have a look around the MoneySavingExpert site, there is a car insurance calculator which will show you the price differences for different jobs and how to 'fudge' them to get better prices ;)
