Howdy people. I was directed to this site by a freind of mine at work, T4Mark. Ive had a browse around and seen some awesome things, especially the v8 manta! What a machine! Ive also noticed an awful lot of volvos!!! I own a 460 1.8i Si with the winter sports pack, but thats just my every day car and allthough it may be rare(ish!), its not really anything special! One question i do have is, ive seen the volvo fold, but how are the VW numbers looking? Ive got a 1983, mk1 golf which is going to be getting an engine conversion at some point. Going to look at a 2.0 16v from a mk3 gti next week. Will make for an awesome track day weapon!
Hi and glad you found us.:d Yeah as we grow bigger we will have a wider range of cars I am sure. Great to see all the volvos and hondas on here mind you ;)
Difficult to spread the word without people thinking you are nicking their members but I am sure when we get out and about more people will notice us :innocent:

It was you!!! It was your manta i saw in a different thread. I must have one!! feckin awesome cars, but dont think ill be dropping a v8 just yet! I was, a few years ago looking for a chevette hatchback. The plan was to put a 1.8 turbo or something along those lines and put on a full hsr bodykit and turn it into a rally replica. The only ones i found were a couple of saloon's!!! Then i eventually found a hatchback, gold, 1 owner from new, 26'000 miles, little bit of rust on the bottom of the drivers door. But the guy wouldnt sell it and i think it is still in the same place rotting to death. Never mind. His loss. Grumpy old s**t!!!!! But then i got my first mk1 golf and never looked back!! The only drawback is no RWD!
Yes its me, had about 20 mantas over the years. Picking up another v8 engine shortly, given free to us :d bringing us to 3 v8 engines in total ;)Had a Chevette years ago and MK1 cavalier years ago and they were a great laugh to drive, saw a lovely powder blue one on ebay last week. I was watching it as rather tempted but sadly no room.
Have 1 trade manta, will put up details when we get the documents, its a long story . May be taking on another gte white hatch.
My brother really loves the Golf GTi, had one about 18mths ago which we took in px. Good job we took it on as he had treated it like crap and it needed a bit of work. Pop some photos up on here be good to see it. The golf GTi club were really nice to deal with when we dealt with them. They seem to love their cars and go out of their way to help people out which is all great for the cars. Its rather like the manta clan really.

Hi and Welcome! :D
There's one guy on here with a 60's Beetle, Stavros and hopefully shortly there will be another one too who's also got a mk3 GTi.
You might be seeing my Supra at your work soon too as hoping Mark is going to fit a couple of tyres to it for me! :)

Welcome along mate. Always had a bit of a soft spot for the MK1 golfs :D. Not tempted by the vr6 as apposed to the 2ltr engine?

Work is good, driving the 306 is ok, hurts my knee and ankle a little as normally used to a sports position.
Did your cast come off and are you driving yet?

Yep, came off this afternoon. Xray says it's all healed well. They've given me one of those moon boot things to wear, and I can walk around and go up and down stairs pretty well. Even managed to climb in to the loft when I got home :innocent:
Tasha says if I'm good I can try driving at the weekend
Can't drive the Supra or the Mondeo as both are awaiting tyres :(

WOW!!! Ok, i seem to have started something here!!! Firstly, ang, good to hear there is at least some vw's on here!, i will let some of my mates know about sph and hopefully we can get some more on here! You can never have too many vw's!! This is my third mk1, but in total ive had 6 vw's. but this one will be my first conversion. Going to look at a 2.0 16v from a mk3 gti on saturday. Cant wait! Second, macca, mark has been telling me a lot about you, not all bad!, like the stuff you've done to your celica gt4, he did try to tell me all the cars you have but i think he got a bit lost!! He has told me about doing some work on your supra, cant wait to see it! He also said you will be hopefully planning a meet in the near future, if i can get my golf sorted then ill bring that, if not ill be there with mark!;) Kerry t5 r, i know you through melvin. If im honest im not sure ive ever spoken to you properly, probably coz im a rude bas**rd!!! But next time i see you ill say hello, i also know barry, i knew barry before i met melvin, we go back a bit!! And finally to everyone else, no im not stealth tm off the prelude site, the only prelude ive ever had was my first car on gran turismo 1!!! Thanks for the warm welcome. hopefully soon i can start a project thread on my golf. Oh one more thing, how do i post pics up?
Hi again, sorry almost side tracked your thread  but then that's me ;).
To post up photos you can use a online hosting account eg photobucket and copy the link. Click the little square above with the mountains on paste the link and it should do it. Hope that makes sense.

If you look in the meets section, we're planning a meet on the 13th so come along! Hopefully the other guys will be coming when they eventually get on here and look :)
We don't talk about the GT4, the thing is the spawn of Satan! Still needs fixing :(
You can talk about the Supra though, she's well behaved apart from eating tyres!

Yeah i did have a look in the meets forum. I told mark about it earlier, he said he will txt you because he cant make it!!! I do want to come, but i dont have a 'show' worthy car!, so i guess ill bring my every day shed!! Allthough i did offer to take marks s40 if he gets it done in time!!:eyes:

It doesn't have to be a show worthy car mate, my Supra is hardly in pristene condition! It's not all about fast or modified cars on here, just got to love them so turn up in whatever. More interested in getting together, having a chat and a laugh and some good grub!

I've never had a show worthy car and not likely to . They are driver's cars, covered in mud and often needing tlc. Like Macca said we are really encouraging a broad mixture of cars, the love of cars is more important.
